Once you have set up your school, it is time to populate it with Admin Staff, Students, and Parents. Each user has a specific role in the school.
- Upload an Excel (.xlsx) file
- Add an individual User
The easiest way to add users with Springring is to fill out the template provided in the Import section. This method is recommended if this is your first time setting up your School on Springring. You can also use this feature when you have multiple users to add or update.
Your Steps to Importing Users
- Find and click on Import on the left of your dashboard
- Click on the Download Template button.
- Open your downloaded file.
Amending Your Document
In this file, you will be able to add all your Users. You will also be able to create Groups to assign your Users.
Within the Excel Template file, you will find four sheets in the bottom left corner.
Within each of the four sheets will be where you will enter your User's details. This information will include their first and last names, email addresses, as well the groups they will be added to.
Your Admin Staff will be listed under Staff-Admin like this:
Your Teacher Staff will be listed under Teachers like this:
Your Students and Parents will be listed under Students like this:
If you have any User that has multiple roles, such as an Admin that is also a Parent, you cannot use the same e-mail address. You will need to provide a different e-mail address for each role.
Ensure that your Groups are written exactly the same in each sheet, as to not create duplicate Groups.
Uploading your Import Sheet
After finishing all your changes, save your file.
- Find and click on Import
- Either drag your document into the dashed box or click to find and upload your file
- Wait for everything to be processed and until you see the success message
- Click on the button to review your recent import. Once you're done, click on Add to begin adding your Users
Once the import is completed, you will receive an email confirming your users have been added and you're ready to go!
After a successful bulk import, the users are not invited to Springring yet. This allows you to review all the users first, add individual users, and then invite them all at once.
Sending invitations by default will only be sent to Admin, Teachers, and Parents. To send invitations to your Students to join Springring, you will need to enable the Springring Student mobile app first. You can learn how to enable the Springring Student mobile app here.
Once you are ready to send out your invites, go to Manage Users, and click .
Encountering an Error
While adding Users to your School, you might encounter an error. You will be notified of this if you upload your file and receive an Error! Message
To fix this, click on . The points of error will be highlighted in red as you review your changes.
Adding Individual Users
As an Admin, you also have the ability to add individual users. This is helpful when you don't have a lot of users to import and a way to add single users throughout the school year.
- Find and click on Manager Users
- Click on and select the type of user you would like to add
- Enter the user's details, assign them to Groups and Boards
- When you're done, click on
The new users will receive an email invitation from your school to join Springring. However, note that if you would like to add a Parent, this is done through editing a Student's profile.
