Springring has a built-in Chat functionality that allows you to connect directly with any of the Parents of your Students. Without having to give out your personal phone number, this can be very helpful for giving feedback to individual student's Parents. You can maintain a professional communication pathway. The video below shows the Chat feature in action:
Your Steps to Start Chatting
- The Chat button on the top right of the screen
- Click on to search for the name of the Student
- Select the Student's name and start typing a message
If you have already chatted with a certain student's Parents before, your chat history will appear under the recent messages. The communication that takes place always contains both Parents. You can send anything from images, videos, documents, and links.
When you click on next to the Student's name, you will find the information of both Parents. If you would like to send a private email to a single Parent, then click on .
There are also more options for a chat. When clicking on a drop-down gives you the options to archive the chat or load the previous history.
Quiet Hours and Disabling Chat
A Teacher has the ability to set Quiet Hours. When you are busy teaching a class and do not want to be disturbed by messages, you can set specific hours where you can be contacted. During Quiet Hours, Parents will receive an automated message explaining that you are busy and will get back to them as soon as possible.
The Chat function can be controlled and enabled by the Admin. If the Chat is disabled, then Teachers will not be able to communicate with the Parents. A school can also decide to not have a Chat option at all as part of a different Springring package. If you would like to Chat with Parents, please check the availability with your Admin.
